Collaborating Culture & Community
Music. Film. Dance. Culture. Local & Global Communities.
-
The Film.
LEVT is beyond excited to partner with Hamsa Projects & KIZ LLC as they work towards producing a Hollywood-quality feature film in an effort to help globalize Urban Kiz dance and culture.
The Seattle Central District based story will showcase a fusion of artistic cultures and remind the world of Seattle's excellent as a major creative hub. This project also aims to jumpstart the film industry in Seattle, providing local jobs and educational opportunities.
We are helping with fundraising for the project as well as community organizing and outreach - both locally and globally.
-
The Music.
As the film's soundtrack will be mostly custom produced - LEVT is working with Hamsa Projects, T.H.E. production team, and the Seattle Public Schools to create internship and participation opportunities for musical artists across Seattle, Europe, Africa, S. America, and the USA.
The goal is to produce high quality Afrobeats and other fitting "Urban Kiz" for the film, and provide opportunities for students and artists to learn and potentially participate in the process.
The current musical team includes world-class musicians, producers, and writers. Some are Grammy-nominated, on world tours, Berklee College of Music alumni, and Seattle Public Schools alumni.
-
The Community.
In Seattle - we're working with local non-profits and the Kizomba community to organize free opportunities for people to learn and practice these dances.
We're also working with the school district to offer students free workshops in an effort to help redefine more healthy, appropriate, and creative dance and socializing options for students.
Lastly, we've partnered with World of Kiz, Online Kizomba School, Dance Kiz, and the Kizomba Olympiads to expand our global dance community development program. We are helping them to offer digital learning and in-person learning with top dance artists and instructors for FREE to global communities.
